What makes this trek a hidden gem in Nepal’s trekking circuit, in terms of views, is that the view of Dhaulagiri, Annapurna, Manaslu and the Langtang range from Kokhe Danda is incredible. Undoubtedly a better viewpoint than Poonhill or Mohare Danda, which lies just opposite. The view from Kokhe and Mohare Danda are quite similar. However, the view of Dhaulagiri is much better from Kokhe Danda.
Also, a trek to Kokhe Danda Trek Route doesn’t fall within the Annapurna Conservation Area, therefore you don’t need any sort of permits.

The Best Time to Trek Kokhe Dara: Seasonal Wonders Await
Timing your visit can make all the difference on the Kokhe Dara trek. Different seasons transform the trail—from blooming wildflowers in spring to autumn’s vibrant foliage.
A trek to Kokhe Danda is accessible all the year round, though during winters there will be snow at the top. But, after having said that, Spring season-that is from March to May is a good time if you love the rhododendron blooms. The mountain views may not be as clear, but will be clear enough to rejuvenate your soul.
Autumn season- that is from October to November is a good time if your priority is clear mountain views. Immediately after the monsoon rain, the landscape around will be crisp and fresh, and so will the mountain views.
Highlights of the Trek
The view of Dhaulagiri, Manaslu, Annapurna and that of the Langtang Himal is far better than what you can view from Poonhill. Moreover, the lodge is at the top at Kokhe Danda, therefore you do not need an hour of uphill trek in the early hour like that of Poonhill.
Kokhe Danda Trek Itinerary at a Glance
Day 1 : Drive from Pokhara to Ambot or Kushma (2 hours/59.9 km via Pokhara – Baglung Highway. Trek to Haljure via Durlung (6/7 hrs). Enjoy the panaromic view from the Dhaulagiri to the Langtang range, and witness the beautiful sunrise and sunset view from Haljure.
Day 2 : Trek to Sarga (2 hours). Overnight Camping or Homestay. The two hour trek Sarga passes through the beautiful village of Lespar, which lie in the lap of Hampal Danda.
Day 3 : Trek Sarga to Kokhe Danda via Jaljala and Mohare Danda (5 hrs hike). The climb to Kokhe Dada is a bit steep during the later part, but once at the top, you will be embraced with stunning view of Mt. Dhaulagiri and other ranges. From the top, it’s a magical experience to watch the sun coming out of the sea of white clouds with Machapuchare and Annapurna in the background changing colors.
Please Note: If you are short on time then you can also trek directly to Kokhe Danda from Haljuree, this is a seven hours trek.
Day 4 : Trek Kokhe Danda to Jhillibarang via Taaprang.
From Kokhe Danda the trail to Jhillibarang is quite a descent through the jungle.
Day 5 : Jhillibarang to Nayapul via Bhuka Deurali (5 hrs hike)
The trekking trail from Jhillibarang to Nayapul lies on the other side of the river of Nayapul to Tikhedhunga. From Nayapul drive to Pokhara. End of the Kokhe Danda Trek.
