Langtang Helambu Trek Route falls in the Langtang National Park North of the Kathmandu Valley. Langtang National Park with an area of 1710 Sq. Km is the fourth National Park of Nepal & was established in the year 1976. Langtang National Park is a protected area comprising of Nuwakot, Rasuwa & Sindulpalchuk Districts of central Nepal. This National Park borders the Qomolangma National Nature Preserve in Tibet. Langtang Lirung at 7245m is the Highest point in the Park. The Trek route falls in and around the small Sherpa Villages situated around the National Park. The sacred Gosaikunda Lake at an altitude of 4300m also falls in this National Park. The Langtang Helambu Area is the least Trekked area in the Nepal Himalayas. The Langtang area is also easily accisible from Kathmandu. The 2015 Earthquake had destroyed some parts of the area but the zeal of the local people has restored most parts of the area for trekkers.
